Thirty-one years’ service with Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue; the last 12 years as a Business Fire Safety Enforcing Officer whose role was to ensure businesses were compliant with the Fire Safety Order, places us, in the perfect position to be able to support your business on all aspects of Fire Safety Regulation and fire protection.

  • Tier 2 Fire Risk Assessor
  • Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers
  • Level 5 Diploma in Fire Engineering Design
  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety
  • Level 4 Certificate in Building Regs and Procedural Guidance
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • 31 years’ experience in the Fire and Rescue Service / 15 years at senior officer level
  • 12 years’ experience specifically as a Business Fire Safety Enforcing officer, 4 years managing the Business Fire Safety Team

Fire Strategies


Where a Fire Risk Assessment identifies the potential hazards and risks from fire in a building, a Fire Strategy Report is a much more in-depth look at a building with a view to putting a plan in place to minimise the risks when there is a fire and to prevent the spread of fire. The Fire Strategy Report will include guidance on the best precautions and exit strategies for your premises. A fire strategy can help to prove your premises is safe in the event of a fire if it does not comply to the traditional fire safety standards and may need a more bespoke approach.



Relationship Management


Years of enforcing the Fire Safety Order and working with partner agencies such as the Fire & Rescue Service, Building Control Authorities, Architects, Designers, On-site Managers and other enforcing authorities (HSE, CQC, Historic England) give us a unique positioning to facilitate a positive relationship between parties and to ensure that buildings can be a safe as possible without undue pressures on the day to day running of a premises or unrealistic budgetary pressures.
